Christophe Honoré and Les Films Pelléas have chosen Margot to equip the bathroom of Christophe Honoré’s latest film, in official competition at the Cannes Festival opening in cinemas on May 21, 2024.
About the movie :
This is the story of a woman named Chiara. She’s an actress, the daughter of Marcello Mastroianni and Catherine Deneuve, and for one summer, when her own life is in turmoil, she decides she’d rather live her father’s life. She dresses like him, talks like him, breathes like him, and she does it so forcefully that the others around her start to believe it, calling her “Marcello”.
Scene overview :
Behind the scenes…
This movie, conceived as an ode to Marcello Mastroianni, who would have turned 100 this year is punctuated with references to this legendary actor. For example, the bathroom in Fellini’s film 8 1/2 (1963), in which Marcello Mastroianni starred, has been entirely reconstructed for the purposes of the film. It plunges us into the Italy of the 60s, where everything is timeless: a bathroom covered from floor to ceiling in white tiles, two side-by-side LE TRÉPORT washbasins, a set of matt nickel CIRCÉ bathroom fittings and a Baroque-style furniture. An almost all-white décor aptly conducive to the deepest introspection.
